ANE Resources, Inc. and Topcall International have signed an OEM agreement to provide KEYpak File Reportertm, a multi-platform proprietary autodetect module to Topcall International, a major supplier of FAX gateway server products and enterprise messaging solutions. With File Reporter, Topcall products will be able to automatically identify binary file attachments, which require conversion from their native file format to FAX Group III & IV compliant formats, including email.
Chicago, IL, June 19, 1997 ANE Resources, Inc. today announced that Topcall International of Vienna, Austria signed an OEM Agreement for ANE Resources' File Reportertm.
File Reportertm is used within KEYpak document conversion and migration tools to autodetect file type (word processor, spreadsheet, graphic, and other document types), major version number and minor version number, by examining the content of the document, rather than by using the file extension of the binary file. This functionality will allow users of Topcall products to quickly and accurately identify the file type and apply the correct application, or call the correct conversion module to convert the native file format transparently to the user. File Reporter does not simply look at the file extension or other external tags, but analyzes a portion of the actual file. Incorrectly labeled files cannot fool the File Reporter.
KEYpak File Reporter is a software module that identifies the format of a given file or document. It has the capability of identifying more than 200 different file formats. These file types cover a wide variety of application classes including word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, images, presentation graphics, databases, executables, audio and encapsulation formats. Originating application environments can include Apple Macintosh, MS-DOS, Windows, Windows 95, Windows NT, Digital VAX/VMS, Digital Alpha, HP-UX, IBM MVS/VM, SUN OS, Solaris, SCO, SGI, IBM AIX, Digital UNIX, and Tandem Integrity as well as other platforms.
"The addition of KEYpak File Reporter to TopCall International product offerings," according to Martin Hannah, CEO at Topcall International, "will provide our worldwide customers with the tools necessary to carry out their mission critical tasks without the interruption of unknown file types delaying the workflow process."
Topcall International, headquartered in Austria, provides professional Enterprise Messaging solutions. They integrate all communication services, e-mail, the Internet, applications; directory services and a messaging archive into a single, all-embracing communications system. Consolidating all communications in a single server solution reduces the amount of suppliers involved, assures a stable environment and gives users control over the flow of information. VIENNA, a newly announced offering by Topcall, is an e-mail server, a message switch and an archive system in one - and it provides connections to all communication services.
"We are very pleased that Topcall International chose the KEYpak File Reporter for their solution to supporting otherwise unknown file types," said Gus Esposito, Founder and CEO of ANE Resources, Inc., "which have traditionally caused end users much delay and frustration in their daily tasks."
